Bollywood Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who grew to turn into an impressive presence on the big screen, was found dead on Sunday afternoon. He was found hanging at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. “Mumbai police has taken up the case to investigate the death mystery of young Bollywood actor. Police didn’t find any note yet,” said DCP Pranay Ashok, spokesperson Mumbai Police. More details are awaited.
Rajput started his career with television serials. His debut show was Star Plus’s romantic drama Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil in 2008, followed by an award-winning performance in Zee TV’s popular soap opera Pavitra Rishta (2009–11). He made his Bollywood debut with the buddy drama Kai Po Che! (2013), for which he also received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. In the same year he was starred in the romantic comedy movie Shuud Desi Romance and then starred as the titular detective in the action thriller Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! in 2015.
Sushant’s highest grossing releases came with a supporting role in the satire PK which was a blockbuster in 2014. Later in 2016, he led the main role as Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the sports biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. For his performance in the latter, he received his first nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Rajput starred as lead role in the commercially successful films Kedarnath in 2018 and Chhichhore (2019) Which was a message-oriented movie tells us “How one can survive the depression with the happiest moments he led in his life.”
Apart from acting Sushant Rajput debut as Entrepreneur with Innsaei Ventures back in 2018, he had signed to promote the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), which runs through Indian Government. He used to take part actively involved in various programmes like Sushant4Education, as a part of efforts to help young students.
Last week, Sushant had posted a highly expressive post on Instagram invoking his mother’s memories. In a slightly mysterious note, he evoked his mother who had passed away in 2002. His post with the hashtag Maa.
B-town went into shock as the news of this young actor was confirmed. From his friends and fans to Industry colleagues has started furiously posting pictures of the late actor, everyone recalled their memories with Sushant Singh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences on twitter, by tweeting ‘a bright young actor gone too soon’. His rise in the world of entertainment, the PM wrote that Rajput ‘inspired many, and he leaves behind several memorable performances’.
Last week, Rajput had expressed shock and grief at the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput former manager, Disha Salian. She had committed suicide on June 8, when she jumped off from a fourteen storied building in Mumbai’s Malad area.
