For Haircare:
Dandruff remedy: Did you’ll know that this oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties? Therefore, this is an excellent remedy for scalp problems, including dandruff. Massage it onto the scalp and leave it overnight or as long as you can before washing thoroughly to get healthy hair and scalp.
Hair strengthening mask: Use three tablespoons of warm coconut oil and mix one beaten egg to it. Mix whole and apply it to your hair. Cover with a shower cap for an hour before cleansing it off with a mild shampoo. Not only it will limit breaking but also treat the split end problem.
Curry leaves oil also delays the premature greying of hair. Here’s the procedure for preparing it.Take a bunch of Curry leaves to add to the water, making a fine paste- mix this paste with the coconut oil and boil it till all the water evaporates in the mixture, cool it and store it in an airtight container.
For Body care:
DIY scrub: Take a generous amount of oil and mix sea salt to it to make your body scrub. Use this do-it-yourself scrub to get rid of rough and flaky skin.
Cuticle remedy: Fissured cuticles will be improved over time with regular use of coconut oil balm made by mixing a cup of jojoba oil with a cup of coconut oil, 20 drops of juniper essential oil, 20 drops of cypress essential oil and 10 drops of lavender essential oil. Apply it into the tender area and leave overnight.
Dark elbows and knees: Take half squeezed lemon and combine it with three tablespoons of coconut oil, apply it on the affected areas and massage to help with the spots.
For Facial use:
Mask for flaky and dry skin: Mix one egg until frothy with ½ cup coconut oil and one tablespoon honey until it attains the consistency of mayonnaise. Leave it to rest in the freezer late. Take it out and cut a small portion to apply directly on your face. Put the rest of the mix-up in the freezer. Rinse your face with warm water within the following 5-10 minutes.
Lip Balm: Chapped lips don’t stand a chance against coconut oil. Just melt the frozen oil and apply it on chappy lips and you are ready.
