Our long wait is finally over. All-time favourite action god, James Bond, is up for one last ride. Not James Bond. We are not talking about the character here, but the actor playing the role. The legendary artist, Daniel Craig, has announced his retirement from the role after a successful journey of 15 years’ as Mr.Bond.
During the tough times of Covid, when regular vices were taken away from us, so was shutting down of movie theatres. This ultimately resulted in the postponing of the release of the movie. But the makers have finally blessed us with this masterpiece and we cannot get enough of it.
Before getting into why we love the movie, let’s discuss the storyline of No Time to Die. The movie starts with James enjoying his retirement peacefully. But this happiness is short-lived by the visit of his friend from the CIA. He comes asking for help to find a kidnapped scientist. But this is not the end of things. Without getting into many details, we can say that you are in for a treat. This movie had everything, from action to an interesting storyline and outstanding performance.
The most important reason behind the success of No Time to Die has to do with its cast. We do not think we need to say much about Daniel Craig. He is just James Bond, being James Bond, with outstanding performance as usual. Rami Malek, as the antagonist, was a superb choice for the role. His character, as described by the producer, is a nasty piece of work and he really gets under Bond’s skin. The movie is incomplete without an infuriating villain. And that is exactly what we get. So, you can imagine how well the character mingles and works in the movie. It is so fun to watch and their hero-villain chemistry is to die for.
As for the female characters of the movie, we loved both Lea Seydoux as Bond’s love interest and Lashana Lynch as the new 00 agent. Both the leads are so different in their own characters and bring in so much into the movie. We loved Lea playing the role of the sexy goddess and fighting with her elegant look. Lashana’s character was more of a technical soldier, hardcore woman. She entered the service after Bond’s retirement and the movie introduces her as a key player in Bond movies to come. It was an interesting point showing her journey and coming out of the shadow of Bond and forming her own identity. Other character roles were on point, too. We stress so much on supporting characters because they make the movie worth watching and support Bond in all of his missions. After so many Bond movies, it is nice to see their understanding and bond with each other. Although they don’t express it, you can understand how close they are, just like a family.
The one thing you can always expect from James Bond movies is the action and the spyware. And this movie right here will not disappoint you at all. It is not only so well done with its technical intricacies, but also very engaging. You will literally feel as if you are a part of the movie. And the close calls and twists are phenomenal. And the audience will be happy to know it is not just action you are getting into. We also see an emotional side of Bond and it gets really sad sometimes and that will surely bring tears to your eyes. We all love this life. But the one thing I liked about this movie is that it showed a side of this James Bond life which the character did not cherish. His longing for his love really brings a new perspective to the movie. In short, it’s a total block blaster package deal awaiting you in the theatres.
This is the last James Bond movie with Daniel Craig, but this is certainly not the last time we will remember him. He will forever hold a large, irreplaceable place in the glorious memories of Hollywood. And we cannot think of a better farewell movie than this one. Now, with tears in your eyes, enjoy the movie. No Time to Die is in theatres from this weekend. For more Action movie suggestions, check out our “Don’t Breathe 2” and “The Suicide Squad” articles on Crunch Stories.
