According to Zee News, 4 new cases of ‘White Fungus’ have been reported in Bihar. The crux of the matter is that White fungus (Candidiasis in medical terms) is deadlier than Black fungus. Everything is similar to black fungus in Candidiasis except it can harm not only the lungs but also other parts of the body like the mouth, kidney, private parts, nails, skin, and stomach. What is White Fungus?
It is a type of fungal infection caused by Candida (a type of yeast). It attacks different parts and even young children are prone to this and once it gets inside the body parts like lungs and kidney, the chances of survival become severely less as compared to if it affects other body parts like mouth or nails. This is leading to confusion between candidiasis and COVID-19 as it is impacting the lungs in the same way as coronavirus with the symptoms like chest pains and shortness of breath.
Causes of White Fungus:
This remains to be seen by the research team. They are working on it and soon there will be information out about the causes of white fungus. But as far as doctors can determine the reason behind this, there are mainly two causes, one can be the use of infected or unsterile oxygen cylinder and the other one is the overuse of steroids in treating the COVID patients.
Symptoms of White Fungus:

It is expected that the names of the drugs used in the treatment of candidiasis would be out to the public as soon as the testing on them is completed. However, As the symptoms of white fungus is similar to COVID-19, the confusion is delaying the antifungal treatment required to help the patients of white fungus.
Prevention:
There are no home remedies or ayurvedic soup which can help you to sneak out of this disease. But according to the doctors, you should take care of a few things. They are:
- The fungus normally grows in untidy and humid spaces, so make sure you keep your surroundings clean.
- Avoid eating food stored in the refrigerator for numerous days.
- Eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Allow the sunlight inside your house as much as you can.
- Wash your mask regularly.
- Ensure proper sanitization around people suffering from covid or low immunity causing diseases.
