Have you ever thought about using coffee as part of your beauty routine? Many people have, judging from the various recipes of domestic cosmetics highlighting the ingredient, is found on social networks, notably YouTube. And it’s not a wonder because coffee, whether as an ongoing ingredient (caffeine) or in its several textures (coffee grounds or powder)- has innumerable advantages for skin and hair.

We focus on a few that should further convince you to devise your treatments about this precious ingredient and knowing its deceptions.

With the approach of DIY beauty:

Coffee now shows up in many so-called “self-made” recipes as powder or grounds. Rich in caffeine, these formulations can offer benefits but are also powerful antioxidants, which allow them to fight against certain effects seen on seasoned skins, and against skin aging.

Thanks to the specific texture of the coffee grounds, they make a great exfoliant for sloughing off dead skin. Here’s a quick tip to have a good hair mask exfoliator: Mix one egg white, teaspoon honey, and a tablespoon of coffee grounds, apply it on damp hair, and leave the product for an hour. This helps in nourishing your scalp and peel off dandruff, leaving healthy hair.

While cellulite is also one big problem for both men and women. True, this is not facial skin distress, but it’s one more reason to drink your coffee with peace of mind. As caffeine is rich in antioxidants and dilates blood vessels, it assists in binding your skin–an actual effect on aging skin performs the role of regulating cell re-growth and increased skin elasticity. The above exfoliator also helps in reducing cellulite, go for it.

Coffee effectively reduces the swelling of tissues and de-puffing areas of the skin. Whenever you make a cup of coffee, keep the ground aside and let them cool for some time. Apply leftover under the eyes for a few minutes and soak it off with cold water. It enhances blood current and leads to stimulated skin.

When push comes to personal usage, everything has its pros and cons, and so does coffee.

Though indeed a beverage or a beauty ingredient, daily consumption/usage dehydrates your body and consequently your skin. This dehydrated skin causes irritating, rough, flaky skin altogether and can speed up the aging process. Not worry more or less- but the key here is to have proper balance.

For every good thing, though, there is a constraint. For people who have very sensitive skin, it is advisable not to use more quantity of coffee in their beauty process. In addition, you got to be aware of not only the amount but also the type of coffee suitable for you. An incompatibility between this pair can cause insomnia.

So, to use it or not to use it? Well, the answer is yes and no: yes, consumed with symmetry. No, you don’t have to give up on your coffee (as a beverage and beauty ingredient) – Used wisely, however, coffee has a rejuvenating and revitalizing result. Not that you should rely on coffee wholly for your skincare regimen, there is no such perfect skincare routine to follow up. But just in case you were gaping, what else you can do for your skin–just don’t skip that forenoon brew.
