Realme has enormously expanded its portfolio within the past two years to take over its rival Xiaomi. The company was aimed and started with smartphones, but later veered into wearables, audio products, and other accessories. Now this Chinese firm has set foot into the Smart TV segment, again it dominates the Mi TVs, with the launch of the Realme Smart TV.
Realme Smart TV
Realme Smart TV is launching only with a HD ready 32-inch and Full HD 43-inch model. The company may plan to launch more screen sizes with 4K resolution support in the future.
Design and Display
One thing sure about the Realme Smart TV is that will stand out in the Premium Looking Bezel-less design. It sports an LED-backlit panel with thin bezels of 8.7mm at the top and around the sides, as per press release. The bottom bezel is slightly heavier to hold the Realme logo, but the TV looks charming. You can either wall-mount the Realme Smart TV or prop up it with a stand, depends on your loving.
These both 32-inch and 43-inch variant Smart TVs are powered by the Chroma Boost Picture Engine to enhance the overall picture quality, by improving the color, contrast, clarity and brightness. These TVs supports up to 400 nits of brightness, up to 178 degree viewing angles, HLG/HDR10 support with seven display modes.
Internal Specs
Realme Smart TV powered by a quad-core 64-bit MediaTek chipset (using ARM Cortex A53 CPU, clocked up to 1.1GHz) and Mali-470 MP3 GPU. It has 1GB of 2133MHz RAM and 8GB of built-in ROM on both the TVs. Yeah! this seems a bit less compared to other smart TVs in this segment generally include up to 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM.
Both the smart TVs also include 24W quad speaker with Dolby Audio support at the bottom. It boards two sets of speakers on each side (12W), including one tweeter (used to handle high frequencies) and one speaker (used to handle lows and mids).
External Connectivity
Ports placement across the both variants looks the same. This Smart TV includes 2x USB ports, 3x HDMI, 1x Ethernet, 1x AV port, 1x SPDIF, 1x antenna in port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Onboard connectivity options include 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (where you can’t connect to high speed 5GHz network), Bluetooth 5.0, Infrared and more.
Realme Smart TV Remote
This remote isn’t agile like the OnePlus TV remote instead, it is stocky and featured-packed. It includes a circular button, surrounded by the power on/off button and mute switch at the top and the home, back button and settings set right below it.
It has quick buttons for Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube sitting toward the bottom. It also features input source button next to it, which comes in handy when you want to switch to your local cable connection.
The remote can be operated via both Bluetooth and infrared. It also comes with built-in mics to let you activate the Google Assistant.
Realme Smart TV Software
This Smart TV runs on Vanilla Android TV 9.0, which is Google’s latest television OS for Smart TVs. There is no bloatware on top and that is wonderful. It has Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube pre-installed in the system, so you can jump start enjoying content with your favourite OTT platform shows. If you want to access more games or streaming apps, you can head to the Google Play Store that comes pre-installed.
Realme Smart TV Price and Availability
The Realme Smart TV 32-inch variant is priced at Rs. 12,999 whereas the 43-inch variant will be priced Rs. 21,999 for the larger screen and higher resolution. Both smart TVs will go on sale starting from 2nd June on Flipkart, and Realme’s website.
Realme Soundbar
After the launch of company’s first ever Smart TV and smartwatch in India, Realme is looking forward to launch 100W soundbar. It was among the couple of new accessories which took the wraps off during the launch event.
Yup! Realme is already organizing to launch a product to support its freshly unveiled smart TV lineup. The Realme 100W soundbar will be coupled with a subwoofer. The soundbar itself houses four speakers, which brings the total of five when you count in the woofer.
The render gives us the first look of the soundbar, which appears lengthy and massive. We can able to see a couple of useful buttons at the top. The firm revealed nothing else about the upcoming soundbar.
Realme will bring the ‘next-level surround sound experience’ to users soon. Now, soon could mean by the end of this month or next. We have to wait for more teasers and reports to know better.
Realme’s arch-adversary Xiaomi already sells a soundbar in India to complete the Mi TV experience. It is an eight-speaker 28W powerhouse that’s also affordable. The Realme 100W Soundbar looks like it’ll be premium and costly.
