Escape Room returns. Let the game of fate begin!

Puzzles are like cheat food to our brain. And what better way to exercise our brains than solving tons of puzzles in an Escape Room. We have all solved at least one puzzle. It is supposed to be relaxing and calming. But what if your life depends on it. Escape Room is back with its new sequence and the movie is to die for. Let the games begin.

If this is the first time you are hearing about this series, we advise you to watch Escape Room (2019) beforehand, which is the first movie and then go on with this release. Escape Room: Tournament of the champions (2021), is a continuation to the first movie. So, you might have a bit of difficulty catching up, this might help.

Where things stand

As for the recent movie, after 2019, there were two winners of the escape room, Zoey and Ben. After getting out, Zoey’s complete dedication was to expose the creators of the Escape Room. After partnering up with Ben, in the process of their work, both Zoey and Ben get stuck in another escape room, just like last time. This time, they noticed they were trapped in a train compartment with 4 other people. Thus, their journey of fate begins.

Judgements

If you are a fan of mystery thrillers, you will love Escape Room. The story is very well written. And it has some amazing twists and plot going on in the background. The best outcome was how they continued to uncover the suspense tenderly and smoothly, like a flower. With each petal, you uncover one part of the story. The plot will keep you invested throughout the movie.

Sometimes you will feel you do not know what’s going on or it’s idiotic, but by the end you will get the entire picture. The brain planning the traps and the puzzles should deserve accolades, because they were the real star of the show. Some of them were just mindblowingly brilliant.

Now, from the name of the movie, there was a clear sign it was significant, but we were not sure what exactly it stood for. In the first Escape Room, the players had to find out what they have in common in order to solve every puzzle. And in this case, all the people trapped had played the game before. Yes, that is right.

This is where the movie gets its name. The tournament of the champions turns out all the 6 people won their respective rounds and this time they are put together to see who wins among them.

Although the story in Escape Room was really interesting, somehow it did not wow people as much as last time. Sure, there were new characters, new back stories, but still the next movie did not come out of the shadow of the first one. But we have to say the climactic twist had all our jaws dropped on the floor.

We really enjoyed Zoey’s character. She was much more confident and wiser than the last game. It was nice how she guided every other player and tried to save them, even if they were unsuccessful most of the time. Ben’s character almost became like a supporting role, and a good one in it. We loved the new characters.

But unlike last movie, where all the 6 people had a different story of their own, this time the main protagonist was just Zoey and all the other characters were just there to fit into the story. Despite that, they were a great addition to the movie. All the cast did a great job doing their part.

Unlike the last movie, this time we get a clear story of another sequel on the way. The way the grandmaster was released, we can only imagine what more we can get from the next movie. There is no word from the production crew till now, but we expect a third part comes to us soon.
