Reliance Jio announced the free video call services (JioMeet). It challenges the other video calling apps like google meet and Zoom. Everyone reported that the JioMeet was much similar to the Zoom application with the same user interface (UI). 

In this post, we look at JioMeet, Zoom and Google Meet to help you decide which video calling service is better to use.

Platforms supported

All these platforms are supported on Windows, iOS, Mac and Android. There is no additional app for the Google Meet on computers. And all other services can be accessed by browser. Whereas Google Meet is only accessed on Android and iOS platforms.

Number of participants allowed

When it comes with the participants Google Meet, Zoom and JioMeet allows the users to start a conferencing up to 100 participants. This might be increased in future by 250 participants on Google Meet and 1000 on Zoom app according to the company’s paid plans.

Sign in

About Sign In, users need not sign in while joining meetings on Google Meet, Zoom, or JioMeet on a browser. If you are using a Google Meet, it will automatically sign in. If you’re hosting a meeting, you should require to sign in to all these platforms.

While Jio didn’t revealed paid plans yet. Google is offering its paid plans for free to all user’s till this September 30. The time limit for the Zoom and Google Meet was limited to 40 minutes and 60 minutes. Whereas Jio has no time limit and can use up to 24 hrs. Google also increased the time limit to 24 hours for free till this September 30th.

The resolution for all these three platforms was HD (720p). Are all these being secure communications? While Google and Jio are not having an end-to-end encryption. Whereas Zoom offers an end-to-end encryption for both free and paid plans.

Using JioMeet for video call is secure and free till the date.
