The great government of India has been granted a Rs 1,126 cr project to Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. LTD. The project is all about the rapid transportation between Delhi and Meerut. And the Chinese firm STEC has bagged up a 5.6 km of underground stretch a whopping worth of Rs 1,126 cr.
Maybe the government justifies its decision by telling us the project is being made in India. There are many non-Chinese construction companies in India, but the government of India chooses STEC for the project as they bid lower than the other companies.
Let us now take a look at the bids of some companies
- Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. LTD quoted for Rs 1126.89 cr
- Larsen & Turbo LTD quoted for Rs 1170.00 cr
- Gulermak Agir Sanayi Insaat ve Taahhut A.S. quoted for Rs 1325.92 cr
- TATA Projects LTD quoted for Rs 1346.29 cr
- Afcons Infrastruture LTD quoted for Rs 1400.40 cr
This was the bidding information. We all know the basics of price strategies, lower the price, lower the quality.
On the other hand, the government is spending thousands of crores to promote make in India to avoid Chinese products but coming to their end, they just gave away a Rs 1126 cr project to Chinese. Do our government really serious about make in India project? I really doubt it after this choice.
After all, the project is “MADE IN INDIA, MADE BY CHINA”. Now we have to wait and see for the further changes in the project as the situation at India-China border is heating up.
Or else let us wait and see how the government will justify its decision. Keeping rules apart, sometimes the government also need to work smart.
Coming to Chinese products, As the Indians are trying to boycott the Chinese products and spreading the slogan, the Chinese companies are making cash from it too. Many companies in China have long back started mass production of many products stating Boycott Chinese products, and many of us are blindly purchasing them.
And coming about our so-called Indian news channels, they again conduct useless debates on the boycott Chinese products slogan which was sponsored by Chinese companies only. These useless debates cannot change anything than provoking the public, which will be of no use, but they get revenue from Chinese companies. Hats off Indian media.
