Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 launched

Hero revealed the all-new Xtreme 160R at its Hero World event in February and actually planned to launch the bike by the end of March. Due to Covid-19 Outbreak those plans were delayed by a few months and the company just announced that it has begun deliveries of the new Xtreme 160R bike.

Xtreme 160R Variants and Price

The Hero Xtreme 160R will be available in two variants, the customer can choose either a rear disc or drum brake. The rear-drum model is priced at Rs 99,950, on the other hand the rear-disc variant costs Rs 1,03,500. Single-channel ABS is standard on both the variants.

Xtreme 160R Features

Hero Xtreme 160R comes with segment-first features like all-LED headlights (including the indicators) and a side-stand engine cut-off feature. It also gets fully digital instrument cluster features a speedometer, odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and clock.

Engine and Chassis

The Xtreme 160R is powered by a simple 163cc, two-valve, air-cooled engine, but Hero claims that it can generate a healthy 15hp of peak power at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.

It also gets a freshly developed diamond frame, which has helped the firm to achieve the least kerb weight figure in the class of 138.5kg. Hero claims a segment-leading 0-60kph time of 4.7s.

Xtreme 160R Rivals

The Hero Xtreme 160R is designed to take on the likes of the Yamaha FZ V3.0 (Rs 99,700), the TVS RTR 160 4V (starting at Rs 1,02,950), the Suzuki Gixxer (Rs 1,11,900) and Honda’s upcoming BS6-compliant motorcycles.

This is the first naked motorcycle from Hero to feature sporty and youthful styling. The bike will be available in three colours.
