Juicy Chemistry, a startup launched with 5k clocks Rs. 25 crore revenue

juicy Chemistry

Juicy Chemistry is a beauty brand known to have been started by husband and wife duo, Megha Asher and Pritesh Ashar. It is based in Coimbatore and is highly known for its products and ingredients being natural and organic. It all got launched in the kitchen with a very minimal amount of Rs. 5000.

It is very surprising how small dreams take a bigger turn. How did they get the idea for opening this startup? What was the inspiration behind it?

The idea to run this came on a random shopping day at a mall on Saturday. Mega Asher was into fashion and Pritesh was into petrochemical business and then they had a conversation with the sales executive of a beauty product.

The product marked them as natural and organic but having read the ingredients, Pritesh was shocked because those ingredients were used in petrochemical industries. This blatant lie they used to fool people around gave them the inspiration to start something authentic so that the loyalty towards the customers stays intact. The startup was named as Juicy Chemistry and on an honest note, it was their “juicy Chemistry” and hard work that brought it to heights.

The path started in 2014 in the month of August and it claimed a revenue of 25 crore and now raised 6.3 million dollars this year through series A funding which was by an investment firm named Verlinvest based in Belgium.

The focus of the company is on natural ingredients and they sell their products online with partnership with small farmers across countries. It exports to 20 countries and has 20,000 pincodes in India. The company is also certified by ECOCERT. Their main idea is to work with small-scale farmers in and around the world so that they can produce ethnically rich organic products and there is no place for a middleman which further increases its credibility.

The use of very less plastic, which is recyclable, also shows that the company stands up and takes care of the minute details. They make a very good use of both nature and science. They also create awareness about organic stuff and wellness from it and every ingredient is known by the customer and they can even pick ones.

All of the information is up on their website, and their social media expansion is also great. A startup like this is what is required for that customer loyalty is maintained and more focus should be given on healthy and organic products.
