Carl Pei who was the co-founder of famous smartphone brand Oneplus has left the company and now founded the company “Nothing”. Carl pei has announced his company name as NOTHING. This came up while brainstorming for a name while discussing with his sister.
Yeah,i am not joking “Nothing” is the name of company. He also dramatically posted on Instagram that everything starts from scratch i.e
Nothing.
This will be a consumer techology company based out of london.
They are planning to make smart devices.
“It’s been a while since anything interesting happened in tech. It is time for a fresh breeze of change,” said Pei, CEO and founder of Nothing
“Nothing will be releasing a its first smart devices in the first half of the year”
Rumors are that they are working on audio based device which may be a smart speaker or Tws earbuds.
We also know in recent days oneplus has been taking over by Oppo as their mother companies are same.
We have also seen some of rebranded versions of Oppo in oneplus. That maybe the reason why carl pei left oneplus and started his own company “Nothing”
This company also got funding of $15 million in series A from Google ventures and also kunal shah(Founder of cred and freecharge)
