Kangana Ranaut’s account was permanently deleted by Twitter for violating their policies on the 4th of May. Just a few minutes before this action, Kangana tweeted a series of tweets about the claimed violence that took place in West Bengal after the declaration of assembly election results on May 2nd.
A spokesperson from Twitter said that Kangana’s account has been permanently suspended for “repeated violations of Twitter Rules and further specified the breach on Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy“. In the tweets made earlier today, she had asked for the imposition of the President’s rule in West Bengal after Mamta Banerjee-led TMC secured a win in the state.
“We enforce the made rules judiciously and impartially for everyone on our service. Our platform, Twitter has always been clear about the strong action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm.,” the spokesperson of Twitter mentioned.
This statement confirms that the highest-grossing female lead of the country is no exception.
Reacting to this incident, Kangana took Instagram to share her views. Her then post mentioned that “Twitter has proved my point they are Americans & by birth, a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown human.
I have many platforms where I can use to raise my voice, including my own art in the form of cinema, and I will continue to do so.”
She joined Twitter less than a year ago on August 20th. Announcing her arrival on Twitter, she said, “I have seen everyone come together on this platform to fight for the justice in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case and we have won(referring to CBI taking up the case) and this gives me much positive vibes and joy as I join this platform where I can speak on issues and reforms needed in India.”
In the past, her tweets paved the path for several controversies and she is known to be outrageous. Earlier this year on the 4th of February, Twitter deleted a few tweets tweeted by Kangana Stating that those tweets violated their policies and similar incidents happened a couple of times.
Kangana Ranaut had more than 3 million followers before suspending her account.
