Venom (2021): Let There Be Carnage- Symbiote duos in action

It’s a good day for all the Venom fans. After a long wait of 4 years, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is finally out. This long-awaited Superhero movie had some big shoes to fill after the first film. And let’s just say it was worth the wait.

Just like the last movie, we have Tom Hardy, playing the role of Eddie or the alien superhero Venom as the protagonist of the franchise. We also get Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady, who is the antagonist in the story. Kasady plays the part of a serial killer, who is damaged by the horrors of his past. He was forcefully separated from the love of his life, which thereafter turns him into the monster he is today.

As you can remember, Eddie was an investigating reporter. Kasady, now in prison, called for him. The conversation between them proved to be a huge career boost for Eddie, and Kasady was sentenced to death by lethal injection. He asked for Eddie one last time and got into a vocal fight with him., Venom loses control and is unleashed. Kasady bit Eddie’s hand before leaving and this results in a small part of the symbiote entering Kasady and he transforms into Carnage. After this incident, the detective contacted Eddie to help him find Kasady, who fled from their custody. From there, we see how Venom and Eddie save the city from Kasady, in usual Marvel fashion.

Both the characters of hero and villain are to die for, but the showstopper will definitely be the latter. Kasady is not your regular supervillain out on a selfish carriage. His character is fascinating to watch, leading us to ask a big question- what would happen if the most dangerous criminals attain super powers, just like in the movie. It has been long since we have seen a villain so vicious, yet so pitiful. If you are following Marvel for quite some time now, you will observe this is becoming a speciality for them.

The movie director, Andy Serkis, has explained in one of his interviews, that this movie is a love story between Eddie and Venom. In the first movie, we watched both getting accustomed to each other, but there was still a lot to talk about. In Venom: Let There Be Carnage, we watch a deeper relationship growing between the two people with one body.

The movie was a great journey filled with action and humour. There was a lot of humour in the movie, but the balance is maintained spectacularly. Compared to the last movie, Venom gets much more screen time and his one-line punches added to most of the prominent humour in the film. Just like him, a lot of other characters, who were not so prevalent in the last movie, get more timing on screen.

The duo of Eddie and Venom is very fun to watch, but do you know who outshined them this time? It was the trio. Yes, the trio of Kasady, Carnage and his long-lost love, Shriek. They had it all, madness, strength and brain. It was, although terrifying, so fun to watch them on screen pursuing the revenge they waited for so long. Despite this, it’s still Venom and Eddie’s relationship, which has been highlighted throughout the movie.

The only big and extravagant fight was the grand finale where Venom and Carnage fight head-to-head. The animation and the cinematography were top notch. This movie will be even better to watch in 3D. All the close call shots and wide angles were done dramatically, making it incredibly fun and breath-taking.

This movie has to get at least 9.5 out of 10. It has action and drama. You get some serious picturization, while not overwhelmed with humour, making it a perfect superhero movie for you to watch. The movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage will release on 14th of October in India. Hurry now to book tickets to a blockbuster of a release at your nearest theatres.
