10 Space Missions including Gaganyaan got disturbed due to COVID Lockdown

Isro Rocket

A few months back, ISRO chief K. Sivan has said, “This is going to be the year of Chandrayan-III and Gaganyaan”.  Indian space agencies have planned to launch many missions this year. But, unfortunately, because of this COVID pandemic and lockdown, the entire launching process got delayed and disturbed.

Chandrayan-II which is the second mission to land on the moon is 98% successful and the last-minute software glitch was lead to the failure of the mission. Now, they have planned Chandrayan-III to bounce back and the most interestingly Gaganyaan mission.

Gaganyaan is the spacecraft which is being designed to carry people. It’s a Human spaceflight. The team is taking training in Russia for the past Eleven months, now this training also shutdown due to the pandemic. K.sivan has said that “we have to make the assessment after the COVID issue gets resolved and will access the impact of the lockdown on Gaganyaan”.

The reason behind the Disturbed Missions

The ISRO depends on private sectors for the equipment of manufacture and the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) which provides the required material got shut down and the migrant workers are also going to their native places.

Actually, they have planned 36 missions to be launched in 2020-2021, and Aditya L1 mission is also part of it. This mission helps to study the solar corona, which is the outermost part of the earth’s atmosphere.

Hopefully,  all problems should be resolved and our ISRO should have a positive note for their future missions.
