Revising in the last minutes or the night before the exams can be stressful for students, but it is a revolutionary brainstorming session that can concrete the information kept by your brain. These revision sessions can seriously improve your score if done right.

Here are the revision tips you can follow to perform your best in your test-

Summaries> Notes> Text sources:

To make the best and optimum use of the limited time available, choose your sources carefully. The source of your revision should be very precise and concise. It is advised to go through summaries of your lessons, which is the least time-consuming of all revision methods.

The next best option is to revise the notes you made throughout the study sessions. You can easily keep the information from your notes you wrote in your own words. Do not rely on your textbooks and other primary sources for revision.

Apply the 10 percent rule in your revision:

This is the most effective revision tip for all the students. While revising your notes, do not just run your eyes through your notebook. Grab a pen and paper and start writing important keywords, heading, subheadings or making flow charts. Remember, if you are revising a page containing 100 words, write only 10 most important words on the paper. This is the 10 percent rule. It can be applied in almost every subject and is a transformation to your revision sessions.

Make a timetable:

For revision sessions, students pull all-nighters by avoiding sleeping which severely affects their performance in the examination. Thus it is strongly recommended to prepare a timetable and revise accordingly. Break down the timetable into minutes and give at least 4 hours to sleep before the examination to score well. Do not turn yourself into a revision monster.

Choose the best revision space:

Libraries can be the best spot for you to take your revision material to and study. The quiet environment with the least number of distractions will make you revise content, anyway. If not the library, then go to the quietest corner in your house where you can spread your material and revise properly.

Previous year question papers are the real saviour:

The PYQ’s (Previous Year Questions) need no special mention but let us remind you that in case of unavailability of revision material you can rely on in the last moments, previous year question papers can be the most helpful source. You can also rely on the previous class tests to understand the pattern and revise accordingly.

Finally, we would like to advise our readers to not panic while making last-minute revisions. Last-minute revisions are meant for helping you with brainstorming the content you have memorised.
