Should the 19-year old fight against the deadly virus or the deadly human who raped her knowing that she isn’t well from the beginning.
This case was witnessed in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala where a woman was raped by the ambulance driver while she was being taken to the hospital.
The officials stated that usually when more than one patient from the same area is tested positive they shift the patients to the COVID centers by picking them up together in the same vehicle and usually the staff does not accompany them to limit the spread of the virus and staff getting affected by them.
So, in the same way, the driver picked up the 19-year old girl and a 40-year old woman.
After the 40-year old woman was dropped in the center she belonged to, then he set off to drop the 19-year old at the COVID First Time Treatment Center at Pandalam.
On the way, he turned the ambulance to a lonely place and raped her before dropping her at the center. The man after dropping her at the center apologized to her and told her not to tell anyone.
The girl was smart enough to record the conversation and later she informed the hospital staff and made sure he got arrested.
It was found in the arrest that man had a pending case against him from 2019 for an attempt to murder and he did not obtain nor submitted the clearance certificate to the ambulance management services.
The political party members and Civil rights society members stated their opinions on the actions to be taken.
This is such a worse incident where the man did not even think about the girl and tried to take complete advantage of the situation by satisfying his wants.
Must say the number of COVID positive cases are rising daily along with that also the number of cases which include sexual assaults.
