The newfangled contraption of “neuro” has harnessed in aspects of gender equality. A certain group of people have been making a constant effort, looking for proof that men and women are not equal. This has given unwanted surge to people in making assumptions about sex differences.
Technically, Neurosexism is the practice that made laymen turn their backs towards a non-dominant parallel society.
Physiologically men and women are different. Being physically strong and beating the crap out of one another doesn’t deliver equality to any root or cause. Here we talk of cerebral equality, in terms of opportunities and the lens you look with. For instance, if a man is a successful businessman, he would not be subjected to questions like “how are you managing with your kids” and you know the associated monologue. But if a woman is successfully running a company, why would people feel like asking such questions.
When he can be a father and a businessman, she can be a mother and an entrepreneur as well. There’s no argument for that.
This is what has to be addressed today because it is holding back gender equality. Mental decency is as important as physical decency. It isn’t something at the professional level, if we come down to our households, I am pretty sure we can see considerable specifics that go along with this theory. We got to evolve from being victims to that because not just it’s demoralizing but it pulls down the progress of humanity.
There have been scientific debates on women being interpreted as a sign of inferiority because their brains weigh 5 ounces less than that of men. Probably one of the rarest times when I had a good laugh after reading a scientific revelation.
We humans can be a lot of things. With changing eras, we have to change titles. We pioneered with being racists, then sexists, and now neurosexists. This is what we call sustainable development. If anybody wondered why it was just limited to environmental studies, well we have brought it into sociology too. This is what we called the modern version of unity in diversity.
There was a conflict of region, religion and now upon brain regions. Pretty fascinating!!!
Society’s peril should not have meddled with biological determinism. Societal concepts like equality, opportunity which are of null value, should not depend on the bivalence of gender. I say that because no man or woman typically possesses those characteristics that fall into non-overlapping and distinct gender differentiation.
A difference just shows variance and does not prove superiority or inferiority.
Our understanding of mental health or mental illness comes with the historical baggage of irrelevant linking of neuroscience with stigmatization and social construct. We don’t know any particular gender completely. It’s just superficial knowledge that we have that is responsible for this pathologization.
I think cerebral equality originated from equal career opportunities and the outlook of people towards a homogenous societal functioning. It doesn’t come from brain regions or any biological distinction.
All electronic appliances have an instruction manual that comes along with them. I am pretty sure; most of us have not even acknowledged the existence of that mini-book. But ironically, we have considered society’s gender instruction manual to be so special and torch-bearing.
The hunt for male and female brain discrepancies is a result of bad research practice, writes Lise Eliot. I hope all of you will agree to that by now.
We as a society have to understand each gender to its deepest roots and identify the perks of the same. Biased analysis and interpretations should end and we should fill the voids and lapses caused by stereotypical gendered behavior with cerebral equality.

100% agree. Both sexes are human beings. They share and have the right to same aspirations and opportunities free of judgement. Nice one.
