The world is getting more and more dependent on technology. If you say no, remember when you tapped on this article. Yes, the device through which you are reading right now is product of technology. Along with time new inventions have been made in this field. Some of them were never made public and some of them gained big fame- the ones like Amazon’s Alexa.

Moreover, to encourage the non Alexa users and to improve the experience of the existing users, Alexa was introduced with 50+ new features which will allow developers to make widgets which the customers can add to their Alexa devices with a screen possibly in coming months.

These widgets act as a link between customer and his interaction with the content on the home screen of their device.

“With Widgets, interactive skill experiences are available to customers even before they invoke your skill. For example, imagine a customer being able to ‘check an item off a list’ or tap a widget to be taken straight to the latest content your skill has to offer,” said Amazon.

Amazon has introduced Paid Skills feature which is a new way of monetising the skills by the developers where customers have to pay the fee once to use the content in the developer’s skill. The skill purchasing has been expanded to Canada and India.

The company said that there are 9,00,000 Alexa developers which are registered and have built over 1.3 lac Alexa skills and built in products and more than 1.4 lac smart home products that can be controlled with Alexa.

New features of Alexa:

A feature named Alexa Shopping Actions will help users to sell items from Amazon within one’s skills. Alexa Shopping Actions are very easy to work with. Moreover it provides the same security features that users are getting today by shopping on Alexa.

Another feature is called “Send to Phone” where one can at an initial stage start the experience on Alexa and then move it to one’s smartphone.

The Find My APIs  can help you to find any valuable thing you would have lost including wallets, cellphones even keys. Once the item is being tracked and the user wants to find the product, the person must say “Alexa find my… ” or “Alexa ring my…” Amazon also said that it is looking to open up ‘Find My‘ feature to support additional device makers. It said that Samsung and Remote+ will be adding ‘Find My’ features later this year.

With all its simplicity and wide range of hot new features Alexa is taking a new step. The new features are expected to bring tremendous success to Amazon’s incredible invention, “Alexa” and make the company enjoy some big profits.
