A doctor couple was shot dead in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. The visuals were caught on CCTV and this crime happened yesterday at 4:45 pm. The doctors Sudeep Gupta and Seema Gupta who were shot dead are a married couple and also found to be out on bail regarding a murder case since 2019.
In the footage, two men on a bike overtook the doctors’ car and stopped them. They took the gun out directly and shot Sudeep Gupta and Seema Gupta until dead. As the lockdown being held in the state, the roads were quite empty in the footage, and the 2 men carrying a gun also openly fired to stop people from getting closer.
Digging deep, the officials stated that this crime could be an act of revenge as it involved the couple in a twin murder case of Deepa (25-year-old) and her son Surya (6-year-old) in 2019.
Deepa was an employee in Seema Gupta’s hospital. She fired Deepa from her job after Seema Gupta seeing her husband Sudeep Gupta moving closely with Deepa. Later Deepa was accommodated in a villa by Sudeep Gupta that was owned by Seema Gupta. Seema Gupta was also revealed that Sudeep had transferred money to Deepa so many times and they also had a fight about the same issue earlier.
However, Deepa started a parlor and printed Sudeep Gupta’s name on the invitation card for the opening ceremony. On seeing the invitation card and Sudeep Gupta’s name printed on it assumed that her husband was helping Deepa, Seema Gupta went to Deepa and she burnt Deepa and her son alive. Deepa’s brother survived with severe injuries. However, Seema Gupta had accepted her crime during the interrogation.
Now Police suspect, this could be the reason behind the murder of these two doctors. But the question is, how sensible is it to provide bail to a murderer even after confessing their crime openly? Our laws had yet again failed and caused this crime. Incidents like these will always inspire the people waiting for a chance or revenge. If Seema Gupta and Sudeep Gupta were punished for what they have done, this crime wouldn’t happen.
