The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) has issued an urgent notice and in a warning asked the Apple users to update their devices from iPhone to Ipad,Ipod to IOS 14.71 .
Digital Privacy hacking has been one of the most serious issues in 2021. There have been a lot of cases where the data is leaked, mishandled causing harm on a small or larger scale users. Hence, the government has issued a warning regarding it.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technical has an agency under it who said that iOS and iPad has some active vulnerabilities which makes it more prone to being mishandled and is exploited on a present basis.
The devices under risk and are affected to which CERT issued a high severity alert because there was a new discovery of memory corruption vulnerability in all the models of iPad pro and iPhone 6s and iPad Air 2, iPad 5th Generation and iPad mini 4 and iPod touch (7th generation).
These vulnerabilities make it more prone to disaster and can be used by people with unfair intentions to get into the device and extract details. It can be easily exploited and used by a remote attack and they would put an execution to arbitrary code and elevated privileges on the device that is targeted. It will attack its system.
The existence of this weakness and vulnerability is present in Mobile Frame Buffer IO of Apple and iPad because there were many corruption issues with the memory and inadequate handling of it. Any attacker having the access to kernel privileges with malicious software can get into the device.
So it is advised and warned by the government for the users of these listed devices to get updated to protect the privacy and information they have in it. In the Settings section there is a software update section under General. It is safer to keep your device updated till the latest version.
