A solar energy-driven miniature train was inaugurated at the Veli Tourist Village in Thiruvananthapuram by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

This 10 crore project is made to meet international standards and stands as a special attraction for children.

The rail has all the features of a fully- equipped rail system, including a tunnel, station and a ticket office.

The miniature rail has three bhogis which could accommodate 45 people at one go. This kind of project is the very first this kind in our country. The 2.5 km solar powered rail will enable tourists to enjoy the scenic beauty of the city.

The special mechanical system to create artificial spoke to present the vintage feels is a stand out which stirs our nostalgic feels.

The entire station is designed with ethnicity to improve the tourism of the city further transforming  Veli into one of the most attractive destinations for tourists.

Solar energy utilization has seen massive growth with the view of the environment this past few years.

We have people who developed electricity using solar power for their own village Banjerupalli. At an advanced front, we have a future with solar paved roads, which will be a tremendous revolutionary step for any country.

Solar energy use could be an expensive means, but this remains the best medium to have a better living free from pollution.
