Instagram may pay you soon for using Reels: Here’s how

Instagram reels

Short videos are becoming more and more popular. People are preferring short content over long videos. With all the cool features and such a wide range of audiences, the Instagram reels have given tough competition to the short video platforms like Tik Tok.

Recently in the last month, Facebook showed its intentions of monetizing the video content for content creators on reels. Facebook declared that the reel platform will run ads now and will pay to the creators of reels in the countries like Brazil, Germany, India, and Australia.

While working on some back-end code an iOS and Android developer Alessandro Paluzzi first shared the news of Instagram planning to credit the reel creators on Instagram on his Twitter account. According to these screenshots, creators will be given bonuses. The creators will also be provided with insights of how much they’ve earned.

Previously we’ve seen how Instagram has worked on all of its insights and recently it has announced new insights on its IGTV videos as well which might help a lot of business and social organizations to know about their performances. Earlier Snapchat also launched a fund for creators to earn through Spotlight, its short video content feature. It said over 5,400 creators have made more than $130 million through this exciting feature. Snapchat is planning to make it easier by making the creators earn monthly instead of daily.

Twitter has also made its way into this with its new monetization feature with ‘Tip Jar’ that allows users to earn as per their followers. YouTube isn’t far in this race too. One of the most popular video streaming platforms where you can find daily tips and tricks to some of your favorite movies and series has now introduced its short video feature too. The shorts on YouTube has now replaced the previous explore icon which contained various things including the trending videos.

Speaking about Instagram reels if bonuses from Instagram comes true then it could be earned by popular influencers and professionals yet there is no official confirmation by Instagram regarding the same as the development of this idea is still in process. It might also take a long time to release as we’ve seen in past years that Instagram had continuously made a lot of changes but it might take some time to test it and make it usable for such a huge audience.

If it provides this feature Instagram might get an edge over TikTok as it’ll be easy to maintain all the handles social and short video platform both in the same handle.
