Mizoram state government once again imposes a two-week lockdown. Mizoram was one of the states with 0 active COVID-19 cases. The state government has lifted the lockdown earlier as it recorded no new cases for a long period.
But talking about the last 4 days the state has recorded 28 positive cases. The Chief Minister, Zoramthanga announced this two-week lockdown today as the cases are rising once again. The farmers can work with the necessary precautions.
The international borders remain close and only air transportation will be available with the other states. Mizoram’s Chief Minister also said the Economy will be taken care of. Further rules for relaxation after a two-week lockdown will be decided later.
The decisions from now will be taken as per the new positive cases count in the state. Though the lockdown will be strictly implemented, some of the villages in Mizoram will be with no restrictions as they are totally dependant on agriculture.
The bold decision from the Mizoram state government is impressive. And hope they will win the fight soon. If a small state like Mizoram can fight with COVID-19 and with the economy why can’t the leading states like Maharastra, Telangana, and many more can do it.
let us hope India fights back once again.
