Reliance AGM 2021 dates are out. Announcements regarding Jio 5G, Jio 5G phones and JioBook were expected. Reliance’s Annual General Meeting where all the major decisions of the business for the upcoming year are being announced and discussed is to be held on June 24 this year.
After the dates have been out it has gathered a lot of attention from all over the country. Gone are the times where the Annual General Meeting would be a meeting where investors were invited to watch over the plans in further working and investment in Petrochemicals.
Now just over a few years’ time Reliance’s Annual General Meeting has turned more into the tech business where the new technology and telecom ventures are announced.
This year’s meeting is more to look on as Jio platforms attracted investments from companies like Google and Facebook. Besides this it is expected to be the year when there would be many announcements regarding the 5G technology.
The Jio 5G would be the first announcement to be looked upon in the Annual General Meeting 2021. Last year the Managing Director of Reliance, Mukesh Ambani talked about 5G and said that Reliance Jio was in the final stage of working on Jio 5G.
As the date of the meeting has rolled out, people are waiting for India’s first 5G public network. Speaking more about 5G, another major announcement would be the JioPhone 5G the affordable 5G smartphone that was planned in the last year’s Annual Meeting of Reliance.
Also Sundar Pichai the well known CEO of Alphabet has announced that Google would be working with Reliance to develop an affordable 5G supported phone. It might feature JioOS, which is expected to be the Android system supporting the low budget 5G phones. Sundar Pichai said that the work regarding Jio Phone was in good progress and so we should expect to know more about these in the upcoming meeting on June 24.
Another tech related announcement to be looked upon in this Annual General Meeting of reliance is their new laptop that might be called as JioBook. No details regarding the same have been officially out yet but as with the JioPhone, Reliance Industries can partner with Google for their laptop too and can launch it as a Chromebook.
It can also partner with Qualcomm to have the new Snapdragon 7c for its upcoming laptops. Also, the JioBook might launch with 5G connectivity.
For now, we should be patient as we would know what’s really going to happen in less than a month’s time. With Jio’s phone and Jio’s laptop, the major thing to look upon would be the price. As Reliance is trying to make affordable phones, if it gets successful in doing so with providing good features and experience to the users it will be a new challenge for the competitors to deal with.
