ban chinese in india

Chinese apps: For over the last few decades, we have seen a countless number of objections on social media regarding banning or boycotting certain apps. Every time, when something happens against the national announcement, we witness such worth against some app and services. It’s mainly due to either of the two reasons–Origin & Privacy.

Currently, in India, it is mostly because of these Chinese apps that’s a belief to have a threat to our nation. It can be in many ways like fake news & false information, data theft & privacy. Right now, a few apps are under comeback from Indian citizens, and here’s why they want to ban/boycott these apps.

Also, we will speak about some other things like smartphones and about privacy matters of video conferencing apps like Zoom. The highlighted issue with Zoom was accessing some calls through servers in China, the company was violating some important information, Countries like Germany, Taiwan and Singapore have already banned the application.

Well, It’s our turn to avoid it completely!

Why do Indians want to ban these apps?

Few years ago, the Chinese smartphone brands has been evolved in our country and the Chinese market was boosted up with a hike in economy, then we have begun a trend to ban/boycott Chinese smartphones/apps. So, now the whole world is facing with the corona virus and now that impact was shown on all the Chinese applications and mobile phones. And this has started with banning a very well prominent application “TIKTOK”.

“So, here’s the reality that TikTok ban is not about privacy nor fake news most of the time, but it’s just being treated with an agenda like wasting of time and uploading some meaningless content”.

“If Chinese apps should be boycotted then AliExpress, Shein, SHARE it, Camscanner and many other popular apps should also be boycotted. If a complete ban is an aim, then even Paytm is under a significant share of influence from Alibaba”.

Also, it is beside the point that to call for a ban or boycott mobiles phones made by Chinese brands, because it’s simply not possible. Even if we comfort ourselves with the concept that Samsung, Asus, Nokia, LG, Sony are producing their devices outside China, most of their devices are beyond the reach of an average Indian due to the pricing.

“Chinese apps are very popular in India. They also command the lion’s share of the smartphone market, and it is no secret that we have an uneasy relation with them. So we need to be careful,” said the official quoted above. “Data is of essence and we cannot afford slip-ups.”

This is not the first time Indian agencies have picked up Chinese apps as suspicious. In 2017, as many as 42 mobile applications like live chat, UC browser, SHARE it, True caller were listed as spyware or malware. Further back in 2016, the government has declared that using these Chinese apps will affect your private information and our policies. Chinese smartphones have takeover of world’s 50% mobile phone users.
