In yet another brutal attack that shook the country, terrorists barged into the house of a Special Police Officer in Kashmir and opened fire, leaving the whole family dead.
Special Police Officer Fayaz Ahmed and his family were under a safe roof until yesterday at 11 pm, when unknown people barged into their house and riddled them with bullets cruelly. The vicious incident happened on a Sunday night in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora area in Hariparigam district.
The family was soon rushed to the hospital but because of severe injuries, both Fayaz Ahmed and his wife Raja Begum lost their battle with life in no time. However, his daughter who responded to treatment at night was later shifted to another hospital for better treatment. Unfortunately, she lost her life too on Monday morning.
To find the militants, Police took the whole area under their control and launched special operations to track down the terrorists.
This incident happened only a few hours after the attack at an air station in Jammu. It is believed that the drones with over 2 kg each explosive were dropped on an Indian Air force station. In this incident, two Air Force officers suffered minor injuries, and it took place around 2 am on Sunday night at the high-security airport, which is located around 14 km away from the Pakistan border.
Preliminary investigation revealed that two drones used in this terrorist attack were “high-grade” explosives. Several political parties and leaders paid their condolences to the family and respects to the Martyr Fayaz Ahmed. They called it “cowardly” with “no words” to describe the act.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti wrote on Twitter “No words are strong enough to condemn the cowardly attack in Awantipora that claimed the lives of a JKP officer Fayaz Ahmad, his wife, and daughter. May Allah Ta’ala grant them maghfirat and their loved ones the fortitude to bear this loss.”
This pure form of terrorism acts, one after the other just a few hours apart, has shaken the state and questioned the security at J&K once again. We hope that those responsible for this ferocious act should strongly be condemned with the same fate the innocent Fayaz Ahmed’s family has met.
