Things we do unconsciously in our day-to-day lives

We think that whatever we do in our day to today lives are totally controlled by our actions and we do it consciously. But sometimes it is not the same. We tend to do things with our subconscious mind which means we are not fully aware about it.

Here are some things which you do unconsciously. It may be the way we respond and react to the situations without knowing. We usually do not think about these habits as there are done unconsciously and sometimes you are also left feeling guilty about them.

Talking to yourself

Talking to yourself – this happens at least once a day. In some situations, you end up talking to yourself or convincing yourself for something which you want to do or do not want to do.

Sometimes you get angry and you do not want to show it up or react to that particular situation. So, you either end up convincing yourself to calm down or your cursing about that situation or person within yourself. And without your knowledge, your facial expressions also change.

Getting back to sleep

You set an alarm for 6:00am in the morning. You wake up when the alarm rings and set it off. You say to yourself that you are going to wake up in another 5 mins but unknowingly you again doze off and wake up surprised it’s 7:00am.

So here you are conscious when you wake up but once you get back to sleep with the thought of getting up later you again enter the zone of not being totally conscious and lose control over yourselves.

Practice Religion

Let’s say you are walking by a temple or place of worship. You instantly join your hands and start praying or if your hands are not free, you’re just closing your eyes and wishing or praying within yourselves.

Our actions need not be directed by us. Our brains consider them like a habit and we unconsciously are just performing or responding to the situation consciously.

Humming/Singing

Humming or singing unknowingly is very common. You might have heard a song or very familiar music and you start guessing the song. In this course of action, you end up singing that song the whole day and sometimes your mood totally represents that song.

If the song is a happy one you are feeling happy and excited for no reason and if it’s a sad one you are constantly thinking about the bad situations and reminding yourself about them.

Cry

Crying – the only thing which is uncontrollable. You do not cry because you want to cry but you end up crying because you feel emotional and that’s how the emotion comes out physically.

For example, you are watching a movie and it has very delicate and emotional scenes or maybe the movie ends on a sad note and you become emotional. Your eyes are filled up and tears roll down unknowingly.

Here not consciously crying about that situation but you become so involved that unknowingly you experience the same and connect to it.
