Give time to your vehicle

A healthy vehicle is a one which provides a better mileage. Always check some essentials of your car and giving it 15 to 20 minutes of time can help you in saving some extra on the fuel.

Speed

Speed of the car is an important factor which can help you cut down spending on fuel. Try to be on the higher gears.

Try to be constant

Driving your car in higher gear does not mean to drive fast on busy roads or driving rashly. Always drive according to the situation, but driving at a constant speed of 50kmph-80kmph may help your vehicle in consuming less fuel.

Gear changes

Change your gears smoothly and wisely. Do not change your gears wherever unnecessary and try to be soft while changing the gears.

Check your engine

Before driving, once check how old is your engine oil or is engine producing an unusual sound because the engine’s health plays a vital role in giving you good mileage.

Try to turn off on stops

One more tip is to turn your vehicle off if your waiting time is over 45 seconds. This looks to be inefficient but is much useful.

Tyre pressure

Always check on the pressure of all the tyres and try to refill your tyres once or twice a month because if the tyre is under-filled, the engine will have to work more to push the tyres. If the air in the tyres is proper, savings on fuel may increase.

Servicing

Servicing the vehicle regularly or timely has some pleasant benefits, one of them being we may save some expense on the fuel as everything is fine

Avoid Rash Driving

Rash driving affects the health and is never recommended. Avoiding rash driving may help in saving a lot of fuel.

Keep your car light

Avoid some extra weight in your car and try not to overload it with some unuseful stuff. A light vehicle where there is no extra luggage gives better fuel efficiency when compared to a loaded vehicle.

Clean the air filters

Dust in the air filter can make an enormous impact on fuel consumption. Dirty air filter reduces the airflow and forces the engine to work more, which costs extra fuel.

Avoid slow-moving vehicles

Overtake the slow-moving vehicles unless you are stuck in traffic. A slow-moving vehicle consumes extra fuel, which could have been avoided if driven carefully.

Little things make an enormous difference

We often first start our cars and then try to perform remaining stuffs like wearing a seat belt or waiting for family, locking the doors, setting the rearview mirrors. All the things take 2 minutes of time but can make sure you burn some extra fuel which could have been saved.

These are some tips to increase car mileage if performed correctly. But these tips can only help you if you treat your car well. If you take proper care of the car and engine, surely your car can perform better.
