The Godzilla and King Kong installations have been famed to promote the idea of the existence of a world below earth and have established themselves as the best pictures in the Monsterverse. Godzilla vs Kong is following the respective events pertaining to Godzilla (2014), Godzilla: King of Monsters (2019), King Kong (2005) and Kong: Skull Island (2017), which set the backdrop before their eventual face off in Godzilla vs Kong.
The plot of the movie is after the fallout of Monarch, the organization which studies the monsters, and the slow rise of the private company, Apex Cybernetics. Godzilla attacks Hong Kong unprovoked, which is a sort of mystery for the people, who have been monitoring and tracking its movements to find its power source. For the same reason, Kong has also been put under a monitoring facility dome on Skull Island itself, with a young native girl, Jia, who belongs to the tribe that live on Skull Island. The film has intense scenes of overwhelming destruction during the fights between Kong and Godzilla, as they have to decide who bows before whom and submits to the King of Monsters.
First thing to look out for while watching the movie is definitely the amount of effort and resources gone into VFX production for the film, ranking it among one of the best along with the likes of Avatar and Jurassic Park. The visuals are simply stunning, with so much attention to detail and you will be left in awe of the picture’s scenes.
Another thing that you should focus on is the colors that have been implemented. For example, we see during the fights between them, that Godzilla is portrayed with a blue shade and background, while Kong is a brighter red. There are many other moments as such, which you can be attentive about.
We see how the director tries to show a balance between the scenes with humans and with monsters, and brings out the theme of coexistence as an important tool in life, something which is also the main learning behind the movie.
