5 Interesting Things to Know about Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge

Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge is one of the prestigious projects the Telangana government is planning to make Hyderabad into a Global City. Many development schemes are going on for this process, As a part of it, Government is spending 23,000 crores for Road Transportation development.

As we know about traffic in Hyderabad, Metros are built to reduce traffic and pollution. Now, many new-laid roads and new flyovers are getting constructed. One among them which is getting public attention in the city is Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge. Our Honorable Municipal and Urban Development Minister, Sri KTR  has posted some posts on social media about this bridge, which increased curiosity among people.

Here are 5 interesting things to know about Durgam Chervu Cable Bridge:

1. Time Span to build Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge

Usually, bridges that are very complicated to construct will take more time. But, this Cable Bridge is taking just  22 months to complete the work. This construction is handled by L&T Company and many workers are involved in this project. The total length of the bridge is 764.38 meters and it’s India’s longest Connectivity Bridge made with a budget of 184 Crores. The main purpose of this bridge is to reduce the distance for the people where many Work Force is working in the IT and other sectors. The average time taken to reach the IT Junction from Jubilee Hills Road No 45 is between 25 to 30 min. After this bridge gets operational, it takes around 10 minutes.

2. Hanging Bridge and Water Absorbing Road

Most of the Bridges will have multiple pillars. But this is quite interesting it has only two pillars, for each pillar it has 13 cables on each side. That cable will stand as a support to the pillars and hang the bridge. That’s the specialty of the bridge, which we call it as a Cable-Stayed Bridge. On every flyover water gets stagnated during rainfall, to overcome this situation it is the water-absorbing road that has pores on each side.

3. LED Lights

It took around 9 crores for lighting which is designed with 40,000 LED’S on 26 stayed cables to shine bright with different invisible and colorful light combinations of purple, Green, and White. These multi-colored lighting with different themes on cable bridge is china-based tech designed with crash barriers to operate lighting automatically through special software.

4. Pedestrian Walk and Cycling At Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge

Yes, this is real. Our Minister, KTR instructed this bridge should be useful for all the people who walk, cycle, and Vehicle transportation. So, GHMC is making this happen and on both sides, this is going to available.

5. Tourism Spot

Durgam Chervu is also known as Secret Lake because it is surrounded by granite rocks. Many film shootings happen here and one of the hangout place where people come and relax. Although it is a tourism spot has facilities like camping, trekking, and boating. But due to bridge construction, boating is not allowed for the past few months and now after this bridge gets started Our tourism department is planning to start Boating.

So, we are going to experience this world-class Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge soon and our Government has announced this gonna start on 30th July 2020.
