SpaceX is gearing up for its first crewed mission later today, but it is still in trouble with the Starship vehicles. The Sn4 starship prototype exploded on Friday inside a ball of fiery inferno just after an engine test at the company’s facilities in Boca Chica, Texas.
According to SPadre.com, this explosion occurred about a minute after a quick test of the starship’s Raptor rocket engine, but it is still unclear that why the explosion has occurred. Luckily, there are no reports of any casualties from the incident.
SpaceX also had successfully test-fired the starship Sn4 vehicle on Thursday as part of the preparations for an upcoming launch test
that could have carried the rocket about 150 meters into the sky.
It was the latest in the series of prototype launch vehicle built by SpaceX to test their technologies for an actual space launch. The eventual Starship rocket, it powered by super Heavy Mega booster, is what the company says will carry up to 100 people to space and ,to mars.
This is also not the first time that SpaceX starship prototype has already exploded during test over the past few months. In the past, NASA has run the show. Now, a private called SpaceX is running the show and will be in charge of the mission.
SpaceX only built the Falcon 9 rocket and the capsule, Crew dragon, which two astronauts will travel to International Space Station.
They scheduled the mission to lift off at 3:23 p.m. Eastern time from Kennedy Space center Florida. Happily, the weather also co-operated with the mission. It started pouring on the time of liftoff. But that doesn’t stop from liftoff. Exactly at 12:54 am 31st May 2020.(IST)
The rocket is successfully taking two members to the space and has achieved its target speed as calculated. Stage 1 separation is successful. The trajectory is nominal. The part of stage 1 is returning to earth. Falcon 9 stage 1 has successfully landed back on the desired ship as planned by the scientists.
At 01:06 a.m. IST. Dragon has successfully separated from the ship (Rocket) and is travelling all the way to International Space Station.
It will take almost 19 hours for Dragon Crew to reach International Space Station. Falcon 9 work is done and has done exceptionally well, and Mission is not over yet. This is just the beginning there will be many more launches in near future.
