Films are one way of entertainment and we don’t know when this situation gets normal and no idea about when this virus will rid out of our lives. Movie theaters and Multiplexes are the most gathering places.
Even though, after few days Our government will give permission to resume the theaters and Multiplexes, there will be many safe guarding measures to be taken like reducing seating capacity, Sanitizing the halls after every show, temperature checkup and obviously the rules of the health department to be followed wearing masks and physical distancing.
Meanwhile, some production houses are stepping forward to release their movies directly on OTT platforms. The Digital platforms made a great deal with production houses to directly get streamed on OTT.
1. Gulabo Sitabo
A Humor Drama film which tells the story about the banter between a landlord and tenant. Movie stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushman Khurana in the lead roles, directed by Shoojit Sircar. Written by Juhi Chaturvedi and produced under Rising Sun Films. Earlier, Shoojit sircar has directed Piku and Vicky donor with the actors. Now, he brought both the actors in one movie and it’s going to be a fun ride. Releasing on Amazon prime, 12th June 2020.
2. Ghoomketu
Ghoomketu has Produced under two big production houses Phantom Films and Sony Pictures. It’s the story about a writer from a small town who comes to Mumbai to achieve his dreams. It’s going to be a Comedy-Drama film and powerhouse performer Nawazuddin Siddiqui is playing the lead role. It also stars Anurag Kashyap and Ragini Khanna. Conceived by PushpendraNath Mishra there are many more actors who are doing cameo appearance like Amitabh, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, etc., Premiering on 22nd May 2020, on Zee5.
3. Penguin
Penguin is a bi-lingual Tamil and Telugu film starring Keerthi Suresh in the lead role. Produced under Karthic Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films, directed by Eashvar Karthic. This film is going to be a Horror-thriller where Keerthi Suresh playing as a pregnant woman takes revenge but not in a human form. Santosh Narayan is the composer of the film, slated to release on Amazon prime video in the month of 19th June.
4. Ponmagal Vandal
Theater and Multiplex Association of Tamilnadu have threatened to ban films starring Suriya and movies under Production Company 2D Entertainment if this movie gets released on OTT. Because they demanded, the movies that are made for theaters should release in theaters first and not on OTT platforms. Jyothika is seen as a lawyer and it also features R.Parthiban, K.BhagyaRaj in crucial roles. J.J.Fredrick making his directional debut and Govind Vasantha (96) fame is composing the music. Suriya is the producer and releasing on Amazon Prime in June Month. However, there are some rumors spreading around movies like Shakuntala Devi starring Vidya Balan, Laxmi Bomb starring Akshay Kumar, and Kiara Advani and Gunjan Saxena starring Jhanvi Kapoor which are going to release soon on OTT platforms, let’s wait for the official announcement soon.
