We all have known about the rivalries between all the tech businesses which are at top today. Then may it be Apple vs Microsoft or Netscape’s navigator vs Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. There had been many such rivalries which indirectly went in the favor of the users as the user experience went on improving. However, today some technology giants and companies often seen as rivals to each other are coming together for helping to work on the browser extensions and enhance the experience of a user.

Apple, Microsoft, Google, Mozilla are coming together to work on making internet browsing a lot more interesting and user-friendly. The teams at Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Apple safari and Mozilla Firefox will be seen working together improving the extensions in their browsers. Extension can be seen as an add-on tool that enhances the user experience while using a browser. As per the report by Cnet, these companies have announced that they are coming together at World Wide Web Consortium.

What’s the Reason? These companies have created an online forum for giving the developers a platform for building secure extensions. “With multiple browsers adopting a broadly compatible model for extensions in the last few years, the WECG is excited to explore how browser vendors and other interested parties can work together to advance a common browser extension platform,” said the community group. All the companies will carry on operating full control over their extension store with their own technical policies.

The reason these companies will work together is to make it easier for a developer to build an extension. There will be a consistent model and a unified core functionality. Also another goal is to make the browsing through extensions safer. For now, there is no specific time that we know when the combined work from all these giants will reach the audience.

The community group has also welcomed developers, if they would want to help in this work. All the competitions among these tech giants have been of a great advantage to their users but now as they come along together everyone’s waiting to see the difference!
