More than One Lakh People Died in a State Due to Air Pollution in a Year

Bhopal: You will be surprised to know how many people are dying due to air pollution . Surprising facts have been revealed in the Report of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) published in the General Lenset of Medical Research.

In 2019, 1 lakh 12 thousand people died in Madhya Pradesh due to air pollution. Of these, 54,101 people died due to air pollution at home. 53,201 people died due to external air pollution.

According to the ICMR report, 10,832 people died due to ozone gas in Madhya Pradesh. The report revealed how the state’s economy and people’s health have been affected by air pollution.


The government’s spending on health care in the state is affecting GDP. Air pollution has caused a loss of Rs. 1,449 crore in Madhya Pradesh. Air pollution in the house is more dangerous than external pollution.

The people living in poor houses, slums and non- ventilation homes are affected by air pollution. On the other hand, in some areas, firewood, cow dung cakes and the pots are being used to cook food and the air pollution is increasing in such houses. Many are becoming sick because of this.
