Varalakshmi murdered in Vizag, Who has to be blamed?

Varalakshmi, a graduate student from Vizag, Andhra Pradesh was killed yesterday by a boy named Akhil. Akhil, living nearby to Varalakshmi’s house. Locals say that Akhil used to follow her, to love him when Varalakshmi refused, the accused couldn’t take her words and killed her.

In recent times we have seen similar cases where another graduate student Divya Tejaswini was killed in Vijayawada, and Nikita Tomar has been shot dead in Faridabad for the same reason.

Before yelling at our rules, let us check where are we going wrong?

Speak out and keep speaking out: People often come out and post some stories about mental health or some other issues only when something happens or only when the media highlights some issues. Another trending news comes and the last one just fades away, just like we did it in SSR’s death case.

If you have a problem, if you are suffering for some reason, just share what you are experiencing with at least any one person in your FAMILY. Trust me, whatever problems we have with our family, they’ll just get you up from any kind of situation.

Parents: Most of the parents in India are more concerned about their children’s behavior. They prefer society’s opinion rather than the attitudes of the kid. People in this generation at least have to understand that a good attitude is much needed than good behavior. Behavior and Attitudes are two different things in a character. Attitude is, how we deal with things and Behavior is, how we project ourselves.

Parents or any family member have to take responsibility for the kid but in a different way. Kids or teenagers have to be in a comfortable situation to share about what’s happening in their lives. And the elders have to give freedom to express their feelings without any fear.

Even after watching so many incidents like these, we still believe everyone cannot do such crimes and they are being quiet and not reacting to these issues. Victims mentioned above would have thought the same. Varalakshmi, wouldn’t even think that the accused (Akhil) is going to commit something like this.

And finally, we witnessed another example for “We never know, what’s coming to us”
