Yes, we are living in the 21st century and there is no way you can escape the digital world in this century. You think the data you entered your favorite websites are safe and sound back in a remote server with high encryption.

Well, depends on the companies. Some companies are ready to spend millions and billions on customers’ data privacy. But not all of them are ready to do that. Have you ever used any Chinese application in the past? I guess the answer is yes. The Chinese already have your data, it could be your home address to email address and also phone number. I also see that many times they sell our data in the dark web for cheap prices.

Yes, you may get tensed. But, that the truth, even our Aadhar card details are sold in the dark web.

So, who buys these data?

Marketer’s – They just show you ads. No harm here.
Terrorist organisations- they use this data to create fake profiles and do their shit.

That’s when OTP (OneTime password) came into existence. So, should you be worried about data roaming in the dark web? I guess, No. Because you are not the only one. There are billions of people data with them and your data is like sheep in a herd.

So, what’s the solution for this? There are some things for your data to roam in the dark web!

1. Don’t use internet. Which is not possible in this era?
2. Create a special Email-id to use. (other than Personal Email-ID).
3. Don’t share your data everywhere, use TempMail or Firefox extension.

You should know which email to use in which situations. If you planning to create one. European countries have significant privacy rules and even companies are penalized if found guilty with the data of a customer’s.

So, next time you tick the term’s and condition’s box. Try to have a glance at it. I know it’s difficult, but you will get to know things. How much information are the companies asking. Is it legit? Also, are they taking only the information they need or any other permission’s.

So, Next time do not worry about your data roaming and just give the information asked by companies if you want to use their services.
